Systemic Footwork Article

span class=”Apple-style-span” style=”font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 23px;”I have written a short article on the practice of systemic footwork patterns and their identification. This article comes from my observations of students in class and the attendant footwork of Fiore’s system. Students have no trouble putting two or three steps together in different combinations, but when pressed, this same footwork goes out the window and students are in the wrong place, with poor balance, etc. A close look at the manuscript reveals there are some base patterns of footwork we can practice to improve this, and this is where the article takes us – including a sample drill progression for the reader. It is by no means a novel or revolutionary idea, but perhaps it will help some overcome or recognise difficulties they have been having.
