There’s only one week to go before we assemble on the shores of Lac Leamy for some medieval combat simulations of the art of Armizare. This event is sponsored by the City of Gatineau as part of its “family day” celebrations and organised by ourselves.
Remember, if you’re not a participant (by invitation), you can still come down and watch the fun. The morning will be filled with challenges in longsword, spear and single sword. After a lunch break, an armoured deed of arms will be held for all those willing to brave the lists. Added to the previous mix will be the ubiquitous pollaxe, armour-breaching weapon par excellence. Fighting then resumes among the challengers, interspersed with some technique demonstrations for the crowd.
If you want a day out in the sun with the kids, or if medieval combat simply lights up your imagination, come on down and encourage your side – the haughty English or the snooty French! See you there!
